Arriving in an abandoned town, Gwen finds herself at the mercy of a mysterious, large, speedy creature with a smooth voice. If you look at him, you die, and he will make you look at him. The town only has two living inhabitants left, an old blind woman, and a crazy homeless man. The actual story of this release is simplistic, but I have never believed that simple is the same as bad. The plot does, however, drag on at certain points and get a little repetitive. That being said, this is wonderful to just throw on and enjoy, it’s simple, fun, and the monster is wonderfully scary and fun.
Matthew Gravelle plays a marvelous monster in this, using a smooth, creepy voice, he lures you in. Eve also delivers a solid gold performance, and the other actors also all play their parts perfectly. There are a few less perfect deliveries here and there, but they are easily overlooked in and amongst the other beautiful lines.
The effects
All in all, I could listen to this story over and over and never get sick of it. Matthew is really the star of the show as he drives Eve’s Gwen to the brink of insanity. The effects and plot are basic, but every other aspect is nearly perfect and every negative is easily made up for by some other part of the story that shines like solid platinum.
